I began to facilitate small
group sessions for individuals coping with similar issues when I saw that this
type of therapy did not appear to exist in the Triad. If the group members
approve, loved ones are welcome to attend to gain a greater understanding of the
issues involved and how to be supportive. These groups are another example of
how I learn from clients and friends. Often someone will share a coping strategy
that enlightens everyone, including me. This is always a great and humbling joy.
I
presently facilitate support groups for individuals with the following issues:
- Panic
Disorders and Social Anxiety Disorders
-
People with Dissociative Identity Disorder
-
Couples with communication and conflict-resolution issues
-
Members talk to other couples about improving their relationships.
The group meetings are
structured but informal. They are held at regular intervals and vary in size
from meeting to meeting (depending on who is available).
Please
call me at (336) 323-6688 to attend a support group.
